Warehouse Fire Equipment

Within warehouse environments, you will often have large areas to cover and larger fire extinguishers (9ltr/9kg) are therefore often recommended. The use of the warehouse and the different items that a warehouse is being used to store will impact upon the types/models of fire extinguishers that are to be used. Please refer to our fire extinguisher advice section to see the different uses of the different types of fire extinguishers.

Warehouse Fire Extinguisher Information

Generally, water, foam and powder fire extinguishers will be used and you may also consider carbon dioxide fire extinguishers to protect against any electrical fire risks.

Anything else? You may wish to consider some of our moveable trolley units for use within warehouse environments. These units will hold any two number fire extinguishers and can quickly and easily be moved making them perfect if your warehouse has varying requirements. We can also supply mobile trolley units that are fitted complete with rotary bell or safety protection box for the fire extinguishers.

You may also wish to use fire hose reels as a means of fire protection within warehouse environments. Fire hose reels use the mains water supply and can quickly and easily supply large volumes of water for fire fighting. Fire hose reels should only be fitted and installed by an authorised company.

Raising the alarm? Rotary bells can provide a quick and cost effective way of raising the alarm in larger warehouse buildings. Remember that staff must be trained in raising the alarm and that you should have suitable evacuation procedures in place.
