Tandem, dual purpose fire extinguishers are ideal for use in areas that may be left unattended at times, such as overnight, to provide protection to property. The tandem fire extinguishers can be operated as normal hand-held portable fire extinguishers but are also fitted with a special sprinkler head which means that they can operate automatically when a fire is detected.
The Firemart tandem fire extinguishers are available in three differnt models including a 9ltr foam whcih is perfect for use of class A and class B fires. The dry powder fire extinguishers are available in 6kg and 12kg versions and offer protection again class A, B and C fires.


Where can tandem fire extinguishers be used?
Tandem fire extinguishers can be used in any location that you would normally find a fire extinguisher such as shops, offices, workshops, portakabins, boiler and electrical rooms, warehouses. The fire extinguishers can also be used in the home and would be ideal for use in garages, workshops and sheds. Please note that the tandem fire extinguishers are suitable for INDOOR USE ONLY. They cannot be used outside as strong winds may mean that the automatic sprinkler head would not operate correctly. The fire extinguisher shoudl be located in the area of the potential fire risk with the spinkler head being pointed in the direction of the fire risk. Tandem fire extinguishers wil cover an area of approximately 4 - 6 metres. Tandem fire extinguishers are perfect for providing protection against waste containers, small storage areas, office equipment etc. when used in an automatic fashion.

This fire extinguisher is guaranteed for one year from date of purchase provided that the fire extinguisher is serviced from new in accordance with BS 5306: Pt 3 by a trained, competent fire service engineer using genuine spare parts. This guarantee does not cover defects caused by accident, misuse or neglect.

Locating tandem fire extinguishers:
The fire extinguisher is supplied complete with bracket meaning that it can quickly and easily be wall mounted.
Ensure that fire extinguishers are located where they are easily accessible and visible.
Ensure that fire extinguishers are wall mounted on a bracket at a height of approximately 1 metre or in line with local requirements.
Ensure that the fire extinguishers are positioned to provide maximum protection against potential fire risks (for automatic operation).
Ensure that a fire extinguisher identification sign (ID sign) is located above a fire extinguisher as this will instruct people on how to operate the extinguisher in the case of a fire.
