6ltr Foam Cartridge Operated Fire Extinguisher
The environmentally 6ltr foam cartridge operated fire extinguishers from Firemart can be used to protect against class A and class B fires. The cartridge operated fire extinguisher is filled only with PURE WATER as well as a foam cartridge. When the extinguisher is engaged, the foam cartridge is immediatley activated and the extinguisher can be normally used.
Every five years, foam fire extinguishers are required to be 'discharge tested and refilled' in line with British Standards. This means that the contents of the fire extinguisher must be emptied and the fire extinguisher must be refilled. With the eco foam cartridge fire extinguisher, only water is removed and refilled from the fire extinguisher and there is no foam to dispose of meaning that this fire extinguisher is extremeley environmentally friendly.
Product Information:
Foam fire extinguishers are ideal for multi-risk situations where class A and B risks exist. Class B fires, those involving flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, spirits, solvents and lubricants, can be tackled very effectively. Foam fire extinguishers contain an aqueous film forming foam which gives rapid flame knock-down and has a blanketing effect, removing oxygen smothering the flames and sealing vapours to prevent re-ignition. All models, with the exception of the Foam Branchpipe, have a spray nozzle which produces a very effective spread of foam, even when used by an inexperienced operator. The FireMart Kitemarked foam fire extinguishers are often paired with 2kg Carbon Dioxide (Co2) extinguishers providing protection against class A and B fires and live electrical risks in offices, warehouses and other inductrial environments. Foamfire extinguishers should NOT be used on live electrical equipment. The fire extinguishers are supplied complete with bracket and can quickly and easily be wall mounted or placed on a fire extinguisher floor stand.
The FireMart Foam fire extinguishers are stored pressure fire extinguishers meaning that they are supplied ready filled and ready to use. The fire extinguishers also feature an easy to read pressure gauge. The pressure gauge helps to ensure that the fire extinguisher is safe for use: if the fire extinguisher is pressurised and ready for use, the pressure gauge will be in the green zone. If the fire extinguisher has lost pressure, the reading will be in the red zone and requires remedial attention.

How do foam fire extinguishers work?
Foam is an effective extinguishing agent that works by covering the fire and removing oxygen and heat. The fire extinguishers are stored pressure and are supplied fully filled.

Ensure that fire extinguishers are located along exit routes and that there is a distance of no more than 30 metres between fire extinguishers.
Ensure that extinguishers are located near to room exits, landings, lobbies and stairways meaning that people can use fire extinguishers to help them to safely evacuate a building in the event of a fire.
Ensure that a fire extinguisher identification sign (ID sign) is located above a fire extinguisher as this will instruct people on how to operate the extinguisher in the case of a fire.
Ensure that fire extinguishers are wall mounted so that the carrying handle is 1m from the floor for heavier units (e.g. 9ltr/9kg fire extinguishers and above) and 1.5m for smaller units (e.g. 6ltr/6kg fire extinguishers)
